Snowmobile driving

Do you prefer to disperse the "winter sleep" with a good dose of adrenaline in your blood !? Do you enjoy outdoor activities !? Wonderful! There is a cool way to shake yourself up, get a colossal charge of energy, a lot of pleasure, enjoy the speed, privacy and beauty of winter landscapes untouched by civilization - this is a snowmobile! Indeed, nothing else will allow you to enjoy and feel one on one with nature. It's good if you already have at least some experience with snowmobiling. And for a beginner, we have prepared a small instruction:

A snowmobile is an extreme machine , and its apparent ease of handling is deceiving. The experience of driving a motorcycle, car and jet ski is useless here. But if you want, you can learn everything, the main thing is not to repeat other people's mistakes.

From simple to complex

The first management experience is best acquired in the presence of an instructor. Choose an even and clearly visible section of the field or clearing and at a speed of 30 - 40 km / h lay a trajectory with straight lines, turns of different steepness and small bumps. When trying to turn, brake, do not rush to pick up speed - it is much more important to learn how to correctly and skillfully perform all these techniques.

The brakes were invented by a coward

Any experienced "snowmobiler" will confirm that the main thing for a beginner is to learn how to stop: he slowed down a little, like the caterpillar got clogged with snow and turned into an additional ski.

Swivel with hanging

Even at low speeds (20-60 km / h), simply turning the steering wheel is not enough. To force the car to change direction, feel free to “help” it by shifting your weight inside the turning radius. And do not forget to dump the "throttle" before the start of the bend - changing the weight distribution will additionally load the skis and help you effectively pass the turn.

Outdoor exercise

Having learned to confidently change the trajectory of movement, it is worth working out "leaning" on the bumps. Turn at their base so that the snowmobile runs into an obstacle during the direction change phase, and gradually add throttle.

Thawed patches

There are often thawed patches in the fields. It is not always possible to notice them in time. If you don’t get confused and do everything right, then you won’t get hurt or damage the snowmobile. Slow down the car as much as possible, and in front of the site itself, open the throttle: the front part will unload, the skis will rise, and contact with the ground is not contraindicated for the tracks.

Water procedures

Avoid places where water comes through, especially dams and sluices. If you nevertheless find yourself in a thawed patch, where the ice turned into water or into an ice porridge, do not panic, do not try to turn or release the gas. Try to get past the dangerous spot by smoothly increasing the RPM and keeping straight ahead until you reach hard ice.
